Import links from TinyURL to cutty

Paste your API token and cutty reads all your aliases from TinyURL and works out where each one leads.

Import links from TinyURL Free account · no card · a few minutes

How it works

  1. Create a free account on cutty.dev.
  2. In TinyURL, create an API token in your account settings (developer section).
  3. In the cutty panel, click + import links from another shortener, choose TinyURL and paste the token in the Via API tab.
  4. We first fetch the list of aliases, then the destination URL for each one. With a few hundred links, this takes about a minute.

If your TinyURL plan doesn't allow reading the list via API, you'll see a permissions error. In that case you can upload a CSV file with your link list — a destination URL column is enough.

What comes over, and what stays

  • Comes over: destination URL, alias (slug), tags and creation date, plus the tag tinyurl.
  • Stays in TinyURL: the tinyurl.com domain and stats. Old links keep working.

Aliases shorter than 3 characters, or with characters other than letters, digits, _ and -, get a new slug — that's how cutty.dev works.

What you gain

cutty's free plan has analytics without cookies, QR codes with your logo, passwords and expiry dates for links, tags and folders, country and device rules, an API and an MCP server. No ads, no tracking pixels.

Frequently asked questions

Will my old TinyURL short links stop working?

No. The import copies destination URLs, slugs and tags into your cutty account, and your TinyURL account is left untouched. Old short links keep working for as long as TinyURL keeps them online. You can start pointing new links to cutty.dev right away.

Will I keep my slugs?

Yes, if that slug is free on cutty.dev and is 3 to 40 characters (letters, digits, _ and -). Taken or invalid slugs get a new, random one — after the import you'll see how many.

What happens to my API key?

We use it only for this one-time link fetch. We don't store it in our database and it never reaches our logs. Prefer not to share it at all? A CSV export works just as well.

Links without tracking, hosted in the EU

cutty doesn't use ad pixels or tracking cookies. You get analytics, QR codes, tags, an API and an MCP server — on the free plan.
