Import links from Short.io to cutty

One API key and cutty goes through every domain in your Short.io account — links, slugs, titles and tags land in your account.

How it works

  1. Create a free account on cutty.dev.
  2. In Short.io, open Integrations & API and copy the Secret-type key.
  3. In the cutty panel, click + import links from another shortener, choose Short.io and paste the key in the Via API tab.
  4. The import will go through each domain in turn. At the end you'll see how many links were added and how many slugs were kept.

What comes over, and what stays

  • Comes over: destination URL, path (slug), title, tags and creation date, plus the tag shortio.
  • Stays in Short.io: your domains and stats. Short links on those domains keep working on Short.io's side.

Note: if the same slug exists on several of your domains, it can only exist once on cutty.dev — the rest get a new, random slug.

Why it's worth it

cutty doesn't count clicks with cookies or pixels, yet it still shows countries, devices, browsers and the hourly breakdown. The free plan gives you QR codes, tags, redirect rules, A/B rotation, an API and an MCP server. Everything runs on an EU server.

Frequently asked questions

Will my old Short.io short links stop working?

No. The import copies destination URLs, slugs and tags into your cutty account, and your Short.io account is left untouched. Old short links keep working for as long as Short.io keeps them online. You can start pointing new links to cutty.dev right away.

Will I keep my slugs?

Yes, if that slug is free on cutty.dev and is 3 to 40 characters (letters, digits, _ and -). Taken or invalid slugs get a new, random one — after the import you'll see how many.

What happens to my API key?

We use it only for this one-time link fetch. We don't store it in our database and it never reaches our logs. Prefer not to share it at all? A CSV export works just as well.

Links without tracking, hosted in the EU

cutty doesn't use ad pixels or tracking cookies. You get analytics, QR codes, tags, an API and an MCP server — on the free plan.
