Frequently asked questions
What are tracking parameters?
They're extras added to an address after the “?”, such as utm_source or fbclid. They let the sender see where you came from, but they don't change the page content.
Will removing them break the link?
Usually not. We only remove known tracking tags; other parameters, their order and the part after “#” stay exactly as they were.
Is my link sent to a server?
No. Cleaning happens in your browser, the address you enter goes nowhere and we store nothing. The address is sent to the server only when you click “Shorten this link in cutty” and confirm shortening.
